I won't be there but there is no reason why anybody able and willing shouldn't. Those of you who may have already visited the Earth Day 2010 main site probably know what I am talking about: The Earth Day CLIMATE RALLY at the National Mall in Washington, D. C. this coming Sunday 25th April. [The official poster's on the left.]
The political motivation for this event, of course, is the demand for the U. S. Congress to enact legislation, what organizers are calling a comprehensive climate bill that among other things will cap carbon emissions and secure the nation's future.
Sting, John Legend, The Roots, Jimmy Cliff, Passion Pit, Bob Weir, Willie Colón, Joss Stone, Robert Randolph, Patrick Stump, Mavis Staples, Booker T, Honor Society and Tao Rodriguez-Seeger are some of the artists scheduled to appear.
